Iranian Resistance raise concern over mullahs’ threats in international peace forum

ImageNCRI, September 16 – On the invitation of organizers of the Peoples Union International, a delegation of the Iranian Resistance took part in a two-day seminar for Peace, an annual event held in Perugia, Italy, which ended on September 11.

The delegation included Mr. Reza Olia, renowned artist and member of the NCRI, and Messrs. Mahmoud Nagholi and Esmaeil Ahwazi, members of the Association of Iranian Professionals in Italy.

Former Italian Prime Minister, Romano Prodi and the leader of the Left Coalition participated on the first day of the seminar. In reply to a question regarding the Iranian regime’s nuclear activities, Mr. Prodi said that Italy’s policy opposes any nuclear activities by the Iranian regime. He said: Iran’s nuclear dossier should be referred to the UN Security Council if it refuses to abandon its nuclear program.

Reza Olia was one of the main speakers on the second day of the seminar. In his speech he particularly referred to the election of mullahs’ new president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is known for his terrorist background. He also raised concern over growing meddling of Iranian regime in Iraqi affairs and abduction of two members of the Iranian Resistance by agents dispatched to Iraq from Iran.

Other issues addressed by Olia included widespread human rights violations in Iran and the regime’s efforts to acquire nuclear weapons and called on European countries to stop deals with the clerical regime.
