Iranian regime forced to free Osanlou

NCRI – After mounting international and domestic pressures, the Iranian regime has finally released political prisoner Mansour Osanlou, according to Iran Khabar.

Mr. Osanlou, who was arrested four years ago and sent to Gohardasht prison, was freed on bail on Thursday. He is the head of the Tehran Bus Union and a workers’ activist.

His arrest in 2007 came on charges of “acting against the security of the establishment” and he was sentenced to five years in prison.

Mr. Osanlou was subjected to torture and abuse by the regime’s agents while in prison after which he faced severe heart complications.

His arrest sparked international protests particularly by workers’ syndicates around the world.
