Iranian exiles enraged over Melkert talks with regime official

NCRI – Iranian exiles in the Netherlands are angry over the UN special envoy to Iraq’s meeting with a regime representative, according to The Dutch national TV.

The TV channel reported on Saturday on a visit to The Hague by UN special envoy to Iraq, Ad Melkert, and said, “Iranian exiles in The Hague are protesting against the regime. They are also angry over talks held between Melkert and an official of the Iranian regime.”

The Dutch TV quoted one of the protestors as saying that the US has placed the regime’s foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi on the terrorist list, but Mr. Melkert has still chosen to sit down and negotiate with him.

“This is not appropriate in our view and the fact that [Melkert] characterized the talks as productive is not logical in our mind,” the protestor said.
