Some 2,000 parliamentarians across Europe back the campaign for delisting the PMOI. Demonstrators called on Franco Frattini, the Italian Foreign Minister to take action in the EU Council to win the removal of PMOI from the EU terrorist list, ANSA said.

Elisabetta Zamparutti, Lino Duilio and Marco Perduca, members of Italian parliament joined the participants in their call on the EU Council to implement the December 4, 2008 ruling of the European high court and take PMOI off the terror list.

The demonstrators called on Italy which has always been a pioneer in defending the rule of law and human rights to urge the EU Council to abide by the court order.  Continued listing of the main Iranian opposition will threaten the lives of thousands of PMOI members in Camp Ashraf in Iraq, ANSA added.
