Iran regime cyber attacks NCRI website to stifle news on its role in attack on Liberty

NCRI – Following Saturday’s deadly rocket attack on Camp Liberty, the Iranian regime launched a terrorist cyber attack on NCR-Iran.Org website in an attempt to prevent reporting on the attack, causing the website to go offline for a few hours on Saturday.

The website of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran was the target of a massive DDOS attack from around 15:30 until 19:00 GMT, causing the website to be unresponsive during that period. The attack was overcome by NCRI’s IT experts and the website was restored to normal service.

NCRI website has been a firsthand source for news about Iran and the Iranian Resistance.

Since the early hours of Saturday February 9, NCRI’s website has been reporting on news about the deadly rocket attack on Camp Liberty. The feeds and bi-hourly updates were used by many news agencies around the world.

DDOS attacks of this size require huge resources that could only be mustered by a government.  The Iranian regime’s cyber terrorists had previously used the same type of attack on US banks and institutions.
