Iran: Political prisoner on death row threatens to continue hunger strike until the end

NCRI – A political prisoner currently on death row has announced that he will continue a hunger strike he has launched since May 12 until his death.

A judge had told Habibollah Golparipour that if he refuses to end his hunger strike, an execution sentence will immediately be handed down against him. In response, Golparipour had said, “I know I will be hanged soon. So, I want to willingly end my own life. I will do this in a way that after my death you will be left with nothing but shame.”

According to obtained reports, Golparipour is now unconscious and in critical physical condition on his eighteenth day of hunger strike.

Golparipour is a native of Sanandaj in Kurdistan. The Iranian regime sentenced him to death in the city of Mahabad on charges of “moharebeh” or waging war against God.
