Iran: Mullahs fear mounting support for the MEK (PMOI)

NCRI – The founder of Iran’s Intelligence Ministry has admitted that the regime is fearful of the mounting activity of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

Saeed Hajjarian, a close ally of the mullahs’ new president Hassan Rouhani, said concern was growing in Tehran over the support for the MEK by members of the US Congress.

He state-run Etemad daily quoted Hajjarian on August 18: “Neither of the two major parties are able to make such decisions alone. Especially in the case of sanctions against Iran, the lobbyists outside the US Senate and Congress are very active. Some… are very much influenced by lobbyists like the PMOI and others. They are active and effective.

“Some members of US congress are even invited to the PMOI/MEK meetings. They attend the meetings and lecture against the Islamic Republic. They have been doing this for a while. Even before the delisting, they did it. now they have free rein.”
