NCRI – The clerical regime in Iran tried a female protestor this week on charges of “acting against security,” “distributing propaganda against the establishment” and “moharebeh” (waging war on God).
Ms. Zahra Bahrami was arrested during Ashura day protests on December 27, 2009.
The trial, which was presided over by Salavati, was not public and Ms. Bahrami’s lawyer was not present in it. Salavati told the political prisoner that she will be sentenced either to death or life in prison.
Separately, obtained reports indicate that Hamed Omidi, a student at Allameh University, has been sentenced to three years in jail. His lawyer has said that he was only prosecuted for attending a protest sit-in by Kurdish students at Tehran University.
