Iran: 560 protests against the regime in September

NCRI – Over the past month, Iranians held 560 demonstrations, strikes, sit-ins, clashes and gatherings inside the country against the religious dictatorship.

These protests took place notably in Tehran, Tabriz, Mashhad, Isfahan, Kerman, Boukan, Baneh, Qom, Karaj, Rasht, Babol, Hamedan, Qazvin, Zahedan, Khorramabad, Bushehr, Shiraz, and Khoramshahr.

As executions and arrests continued unabated last month – official media reported 20 public hangings and 53 death sentences and stoning verdicts – Iranian people protested against the high cost of living, water shortages, mass redundancies, appalling living conditions and further crackdowns on basic freedoms.

Workers took part in at least 140 major protests and students and teachers held 20 others. During the same period, at least 40 clashes broke out between the population and the security forces.
