zahra asadpour gorjiNCRI – An elderly female political prisoner is under persistent psychological torment by the Iranian regime’s prison officials, despite the fact that she was supposed to be released a month ago, according to an association supporting families of slain or jailed political activists.

Ms. Zahra Asadpour Gorji is the mother of a political prisoner, and is herself being held at Karaj’s Gohardasht prison.

The Iranian regime’s prison officials had said that she would be released last Thursday, but the release was deferred to Saturday, which again never materialized.

On Saturday, she was told that she will be accompanied by an agent to her place of exile, the city of Zanjan, but she was once again took back to prison. Her relatives’ persistent inquiries have been to no avail.

The Iranian regime usually uses such psychological pressures to break down prisoners, but Ms. Gorji has remained resilient.
