Growing support for Iraqi people’s declaration against Iran regime meddling

Growing support for Iraqi people's declaration against Iran regime meddlingAl-Haqa’eq Iraqi daily, June 25, Iraq – On Saturday, June 17, the Iraqi People’s Solidarity Congress met in the City of Ashraf to declare its solidarity with the people of Iran and the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI) in the presence of representatives of 121 political parties and associations and cultural and professional institutes and societies with 15,000 Iraqis participating. People came to the conference early in the morning to announce their support for the articles of the declaration which reflects the views of not only the signatories but of all the people of Iraq. All those interviewed by Al-Haqa’eq expressed their anger over Iran’s outrageous interferences in the internal affairs of Iraq and said this meddling was more dangerous than the U.S. occupation. Excerpts of interviews follow:

Hassan Ali, from Sadr city: No one can deny Iranian interventions in Iraq. Iran’s meddling in Iraqi affairs through its hired agents has dangerously increased the suffering of the people of Iraq. As an Iraqi who seeks the interests of his country, I reject any foreign intervention and completely support the articles of this declaration.

Wali Akram Razaq, from Madinat-ol Horriya: What Iran has done so far with the Iraqis has had a destructive impact on Iraq’s national security in all fields… Every nationalist and noble Iraqi endorses this declaration which expresses the expectations of noble Iraqis whose first and last priorities are the interests of Iraq. I want to join my voice with the voice of millions of people who say, "Iran out, out! Let Iraq be free!"

Ms. So’ad Ahmad Ali from Ziwana: The PMOI is practically a heavy weight while evaluating the forces countering the Iranian regime in Iraq. Its disarmament upset the strategic balance in this sensitive part of the world in favor of the Iranian regime…

Sheikh Mohammad Abdul Hassan, from Al-Jadidiya, Baghdad: Iranian intervention can be seen in Al-Jaderiya prison; torture and murder was systematically used under supervision of Iranian agents and their operatives… and until the present regime exists in Iran, we will not see any end to their intervention in Iraq and that is why we support Iranian people for freedom and democracy.
