European parliamentarian rebuffs Iranian regime offer against opposition

VlasakNCRI – A European member of Parliament from the Czech Republic has sent a letter to the Iranian regime’s embassy in Brussels condemning its attempts to impede parliamentarians’ efforts to expose the regime’s crimes and to support the Iranian Resistance.

In his letter, Mr. Vlasak wrote, “I will do everything in my power to support dissidents and those movements working for change in Iran.”

The regime’s ambassador in Brussels, whose main focus has been to write to members of the European Parliament and Belgian lawmakers to force them to stop supporting the Iranian Resistance, had said in a letter to Mr. Vlasak that his solidarity with the Resistance is “saddening and shocking” for the regime and had requested a meeting.

The regime envoy had written, “I will be appreciative and am ready to present any relevant documentation and participate in a meeting regarding this issue at your convenience. I have also enclosed information about my professional background.”

In response, Mr. Vlasak wrote, “Since I have personally experienced the rule of a totalitarian regime, I am extremely adamant about supporting democratic values, human rights and freedom of expression. In my view, none of these values have been recognized by the Iranian regime. I have no inclination to hear or appease either the Iranian regime or its envoys. And, I will do everything in my power to support dissidents and those movements working for change in Iran.”
