Europe at the center of mullahs’ spy ring

Europe at the center of mullahs' spy ringNCRI – In an interview with the Luxemburger Wort, a national daily in Luxemburg, the chair of Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Mohammad Mohaddessin called on EU to put pressure on the mullahs’ regime instead of imposing restrictions on the Iranian opposition. He insisted that the EU should apply a new policy towards the Iranian regime and support democratic change by Iranian people and their resistance.

The Luxemburger Wort in its article titled: “Europe at the Center of the mullahs’ spy ring,” wrote about the warnings of the People’s Mojahedin of Iran on the conspiracies of the regime against the Iranian Resistance in Europe where the high ranking German politicians also affirm Mohadesin’s claims on the spread of disinformation by the Iranian regime. At the beginning of the world cup games in Germany, Gunther Beckstein, the Interior Minister of Bavaria province stated that it is a classical intelligence method of the Iranian regime to blame the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK) for terrorist activities.

NCRI believes that life threats against members of the Iranian opposition in Europe are also very common. The paper quoted Mohaddessin as saying, “We have information that shows the Iranian regime is actively working on terrorist plots in Europe to blame us later for them.” He reiterated that the Iranian regime has close relations with some European media in this regards.

Luxemburger Wort continued, “Mohaddessin affirms that since the world cup the Iranian regime has expanded its spy network in Europe. We know of 15 diplomats in the regime’s embassy in Berlin who are in fact members of Iranian secret service. In recent years, the number mullahs’ spies have tripled in Europe. Today the regime has a very strong spy network. The reason is the importance of economic value of the EU for the Iranian regime. Currently the volume of trade between the two amounts to 30 billion Euros.” He reiterated: “The EU must not play the Iranian game and instead of putting pressure on us it should blame Ahmadinejad.” Luxemburg Wort continued: “MEK accuses Brussels that they value trade interests more than the rule of law.” Mohaddessin thinks this policy is very dangerous in the long run. “Clearly, acquiring nuclear bomb by the Iranian regime is a bigger threat to Europe than to the United States. The mullahs are common enemies of both Europe and the Iranian Resistance.”

In conclusion Mohadesin said: “We need a new policy by the EU towards Iran; a policy that supports democratic change.”
