Dutch Socialist Party expresses support for Iranian Resistance

NCRI – In protest against barbaric hanging of Hojjat Zamani in Gohardasht prison on February 7, supporters of the Iranian Resistance and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran staged a rally in front of the Dutch parliament on Wednesday, February 22.

Among participants in the rally were a number of members of Zamani’s family residing in the Netherlands. They spoke about his life and love for people who are suffering under the rule of medieval regime ruling Iran.

The rally drew the attention of public and the parliamentarians as well as the media who expressed their sympathy and support to the move and the Iranian people.

Mr. Van Bommel, a member of the Dutch parliament from Socialist Party joined the rally and offered his condolences to the Zamani family. In his address to the rally he strongly condemned human rights violations in Iran and its deterioration since Ahmadinejad’s appointment as mullahs’ president. He described the new government in Iran as a government of security forces who are deeply involved in suppression of Iranian people. He said that supporting the Iranian people’s right and their resistance is a duty and that was why he felt that he should attend the rally.

Mr. Bommel reiterated his party’s support to the Iranian Resistance and said that the issue of human rights in Iran and the execution of Hojjat Zamani will be raised at the parliament by his group. He added that the issue of human rights was not a matter for negotiation with criminal regime in Iran and pledged to call on the government to condemn Zamani’s execution.

Messages of solidarity by Dutch and Iranian groups were read out in the gathering by their representatives. There was a consensus among all groups that time has come for mullahs to go and there existed no room for negotiations with the clerical dictatorship in Iran. They also called for immediate removal of unjust terror tag from the PMOI.
