Chair of EP’s EPP Group meets Maryam Rajavi

Joseph Daul, Chair of the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) meets Maryam RajaviNCRI – In meeting with Mrs. Rajavi, Joseph Daul, Chair of the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats), stressed the seriousness of European governments in imposing sanctions on the Iranian regime.

He said, "We in the European Parliament will not spare any efforts in defending human rights and the Iranian people and opposition."

In elaborating on the scale of the regime's suppressive actions and its conspiracies against the Iranian people's uprising and the residents of Camp Ashraf, Mrs. Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance emphasized that helping the uprising and defending Camp Ashraf as well as standing up to the regime's blackmail and pressures not only serves the interests of the Iranian people but also is an imperative for global peace and security.

Camp Ashraf, Iraq, is home to more than 3,400 members of the main Iranian opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

The meeting was held on February 23, 2010 in Brussels.
