In a recent letter addressed to the President of the European Council Charles Michel, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, and the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Mrs. Judy Sgro, a member of the Canadian Parliament, expressed deep concern regarding a troubling scheme orchestrated by the Iranian regime against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and its member refugees.

The Iranian regime, unable to suppress the PMOI/MEK within its borders, announced indictments against 104 of its members, most of whom were European residents or refugees in Albania, Mrs. Sgro cautioned. This alarming development, along with the lack of a robust response following an attack on the MEK members on June 30, has raised concerns about the regime’s intentions.

Mrs. Sgro urged swift condemnation, international accountability, and protection for Iranian political refugees in Ashraf-3, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic values and human rights in Europe.
