The first of these protests was staged in front of the EU Council in Brussels with supporters of the Iranian opposition (PMOI). They demanded the Council’s swift and transparent action to abide the EU court ruling of 4 December, which annulled the terrorist tag implemented by the EU Presidency at the behest of Tehran's an exchange for interests. Iranians chanted slogans in defiance of EU Council negligence to go by the law, and warned that unless the Iranian resistance is not treated fairly and justly as ordered by the high court, the Council would be directly responsible for the coming blood shed and massacre of the supporters in Iran and outside, namely 3500 in Camp Ashraf (Bordering Iran).

Part of the Press Release issued by the Association in support of the NCRI in Brussels reads:

."The striking role of France which had insisted on keeping the PMOI in the list in June 2008 has been repulsive for the Iranian community. France at the fore front with the Council have tried to evade the court ruling and had refused to accept it, and to do so had trampled on all its basic humanitarian and ethical principles by using the pretext of an already void legal case in its archives as pretext to buy time ; however, the next decision by the court on 4 December was a heavy blow to all plots and compromise to appease a religious fascism despised by its own people, and is an end to the shameful deals which have been pursued by these countries with the religious dictatorship against the Iranian people and the Resistance. As far as the EU court is concerned the PMOI has not been on the EU list since 4 December."

Mhedi. N, responsible of the Iranian association sponsoring the protest, said; “The International community and the world of conscience will not allow a few interlocutors to put at risk all the EU credibility in exchange for short term interests with an illegitimate dictatorship, which is on the verge of implosion. This has been the result of the politics of appeasement. A political catastrophe which has emboldened a regime already despised by its people to expand terrorism, and encouraged its nuclear expansion”.

A mother of two, who has fled Iran for some years and has been in Belgium for some years, said in an angry voice; “we witness a confrontation of the Iranian people who seek Democracy and Freedom and a secular Republic, and on the other: the mediaeval mullahs and their appeasers and counterparts who do not have the minimum understanding of the nature of this vile regime. By labeling the PMOI in the unjust terrorist list, these so called powers have blocked the only means of a democratic change in Iran. We shall not stand this unfair and unjust treatment! We have had 100 years of resistance in our country, and this will go on! With the EU council apologizing or not!”
