NCRI – A high-level delegation of British lawmakers has demanded the immediate release of the seven Camp Ashraf hostages, a full UN investigation into the Ashraf massacre and the urgent protection of Camp Liberty residents before their transfer to safe countries.

The MPs and peers headed by former House of Commons speaker Baroness Boothroyd and Lord Carlile of Berriew QC CBE also condemned the ‘horrific violation’ of human rights in Iran, including over 700 executions in 2013 and criticised their own government’s pandering to the Iranian regime.

The British delegation held talks with the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance Maryam Rajavi during their visit to the NCRI’s headquarters in Auvers-sur-Oise, north of Paris, on Monday, January 27 – arranged by the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom.

The British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom is jointly chaired by Lord Carlile and David Amess MP and supported by a majority of MPs and 200 Members of the House of Lords.

At the meeting, Mrs Rajavi praised the support for the Iranian people and their resistance by both British houses of parliament, and accused the Iranian of increasing human rights abuses and execution, and meddling in the region as a counter-balance to its forced retreat in its nuclear weapons project.

The regime was using its puppet government in Iraq to perpetuate the massacre of residents of Camps Ashraf and Camp Liberty, while also exploiting the feeble stance of the international community to push ahead with its nuclear ambitions.

The British delegation stressed that despite the Geneva accord, attempts by Tehran to attain nuclear weapons remained a serious concern and any final agreement should force Iran to implement all UN Security Council resolutions on the cessation of any kind of enrichment.

They noted that human rights abuses and executions had escalated under new ‘moderate’ president Hassan Rouhani, who has boated about deceiving the West over Iran’s nuclear project during his 30 years as a senior regime official.

The delegation also condemned visits by a number of representatives of the British and other parliaments to Iran in the face of ongoing slaughter and suppression by the regime.

They reiterated that these parliamentarians do not represent the UK Parliament and majority members of the Parliament support establishment of democracy and freedom in Iran.

They voiced their solidarity with the members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Camp Liberty and stressed that the British government has full responsibility for their safety and security, and should use its influence at the UN Security Council to call for a ‘full and transparent’ investigation in to the September 1 massacre at Camp Ashraf.

The British lawmakers described the Iranian regime’s interference in the region, especially in Iraq and Syria, as ‘dangerous’ and backed Mrs Rajavi’s proposal that a complete halt in Iranian regime’s meddling in Syria is the sole solution to this crisis.

They called on the international community to confront Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki for ordering attacks on Camp Liberty and Ashraf and expressed abhorrence over the dissemination of bogus information against the Iranian opposition and Camp Liberty residents, which is paving the way for more attacks.

And they gave full support of Mrs Rajavi’s ten-point plan for the future of Iran as the best guarantee for democracy and human rights as well as peace and tranquillity in the region and the world.
