Bonn rally calls on UN to act to protect rights of Iranian Mojahedin in Iraq

Bonn rally calls on UN to act to protect rights of Iranian Mojahedin in IraqNCRI – Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance staged a rally on Friday outside the UN office in Bonn, Germany, to protest against the mullahs’ regime meddling in Iraq and its conspiracies against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran in that country.

In their banners, the protestors condemned any imposition of restrictions against the PMOI under the Iranian regime’s pressures.

Representatives of Iranian communities from different parts of Germany also attended the rally to express solidarity with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran. They strongly condemned human rights violations in Iran and the rising number of executions, particularly execution of political prisoners and mullahs’ terrorist meddling in Iraq. Iranian communities called on international bodies to safeguard the rights of the PMOI in Ashraf City in Iraq and reiterated that the members of the Iranian Mojahedin are considered as “protected persons” under the Fourth Geneva Convention.

At the end of the rally a delegation representing the participants delivered a statement to the UN office which was signed by all in this protest gathering. In their statement, they once again underlined the status of the PMOI in Iraq and called on the world body to act immediately to counter conspiracies by the Iranian regime against its main opposition. The official at the Bonn’s UN office assured the delegation that its demands will be passed to the relevant section at the European Headquarters of the UN in Geneva.
