Australian dignitaries condemn violations of human rights in Iran

NCRI (Sydney)- On Thursday, a meeting was held in the New South Wales’ Parliament buliding in which two prominent members, Mr. Laurie Ferguson, shadow Immigration Minister and Ms Sylvia Phyllis Hale, MP from New South Wales, spoke in length concerning the human rights violation and the need for prosecution of those officials who had ordered the massacre of political prisoners in the summer of 1988 in Iran.

Mr. Laurie Ferguson described the Iranian regime as an element of instability in the region. He condemned the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran and called for referral of its human rights violations dossier to the UN Security Council.

Ms. Sylvia Phyllis Hale from the Australia’s Green Party asked the international community for a thorough investigation of human rights violations in Iran.
Another speaker of the event was Dr. Meridis Bergman, former chair of the New South Wales Senate condemned the recent wave of executions in Iran.
She reiterated that we should never forget the massacre of political prisoners because it is a significant violation of human rights in the world. Ms. Hale called on the international community to refer the perpetrators of the crime to an international tribunal for their crimes against humanity.
A video tape was shown of the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s speech before 50,000 Iranians in the Villepinte Arena in Paris.  
 
Mr. Peter Murphy, from the Alliance for Peace and Equality condemned the violation of human rights in Iran and called on the Australasian government to remove the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) from its terrorist list and break its economical ties with the Iranian regime.
