NCRI – Al Khaleej Online: Maryam Rajavi says that defeating ISIS depends on stopping Iranian regime’s interventions in the region

In an article titled “Maryam Rajavi: defeating ISIS depends on stopping Iranian regime’s interventions in the region”, the Al Khaleej Online newspaper reported on a conference held in Paris on November 26: “the President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) Maryam Rajavi stressed that ending the war which is raging in some of the countries in the Middle East begins with stopping the Iranian regime’s interventions in the region. She asked the new US government to reconsider the former US policies in the Middle East.”

“Maryam Rajavi made these comments at a conference titled ‘Call for Trial’ held in the French capital on Saturday November 26. Some of the world’s prominent figures participating in the conference called for putting on trial the officials responsible for the 1988 massacre, during which many political prisoners were murdered by the mullahs’ regime”, added the newspaper.

Mrs. Rajavi maintained that regarding the region’s current crisis, any solution to ultimately put an end to war and insecurity, and eliminate ISIS in particular, depends on stopping the Iranian regime’s interventions in the region, especially in Syria.

We, along with the people and their governments in the region, expect the new US President Donald Trump to reconsider the US policies in the last three decades, particularly over the past 16 years, Rajavi said. The more the US government moves away from those policies, the more the region will move toward peace and security, she added.

The newspaper further quoted Maryam Rajavi as saying that the Iranian Resistance’s demand is that the policy of making concessions to the mullahs’ regime and remaining silent and inactive in the face of its crimes in Iran and the region be stopped.
