NCRI – September 6th marks the 50th anniversary of the formation of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, or MEK), the principal Iranian opposition movement.

Iranians have been celebrating the occasion inside of Iran and the world over.

Inside of Iran, despite the mullahs’ ruthless crackdown especially against the PMOI (MEK) activists, the network of PMOI (MEK) has been engaged in an extensive campaign on the occasion throughout the country.

The campaign inside of Iran has entailed several types of activities.

On several locations in Tehran and in other cities, the activists of the PMOI (MEK) have hoisted big banners with the pictures of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, in broad daylight in major pathways and bridges. (See the clip below).

The message conveyed in the campaign is that the perseverance and steadfastness of the PMOI (MEK) in upholding its principles in the face of two brutal dictatorships, heralds a new dawn for Iran with freedom, democracy, and gender equality.

Iranians outside of Iran have been celebrating the 50th year of the inception of the PMOI (MEK) in major cities throughout Europe and North America.

In addition to senior officials of the Iranian Resistance, scores of political, social, and religious dignitaries of these countries have taken part in the celebrations and have expressed their commitment and unwavering support for the PMOI (MEK) in its struggle to bring freedom and democracy to Iran.
