NCRI – The Iranian Regime has begun to mass produce a new weaponised drone that carries so-called smart bombs, which are capable of precision strikes, according to the Islamic Republic’s military leaders at an unveiling ceremony in Tehran on Monday.
Iran regime’s Defense Minister and Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Amir Hatami said: “[The new drones- called Mohajer 6- are] equipped with the smart Qa’em precision-striking bombs and different electro-optical explorers and different warheads, [and] can trace, intercept and destroy the target.”
Some Iranian military leaders said that the drones “can destroy different fixed and mobile targets in day and [during night] missions, and can infiltrate various types of installations and facilities”.
According to Hatami, the drones will be used to conduct reconnaissance missions and other patrols in far-off areas. However, Adam Kredo at the Washington Free Beacon believes the drones will be sent to “hotspots such as Syria, where other Iranian-built drones have tracked U.S. soldiers and even launched strikes on them”.
It is not known how far the drones can fly, but in 2015 IRGC second-in-command Brigadier General Hossein Salami said that Iran had developed unmanned aerial vehicles that can fly up to 3,000 kilometres or 1860 miles have been would put Israel in range.
It is believed that the drones will be delivered to the IRGC, which is responsible for coordinating Iran’s regional military exploits, including in Syria, where they have propped up the Bashar Assad dictatorship, and in Yemen, where they support the Houthi terrorists.
These smart bombs were last heard about in 2017, when the Iranian Regime test-fired them in military drills.
Also in attendance at the ceremony were Commander of the IRGC Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour.
This drone is just the latest example of Iran regime’s massive military build-up since the signing of the nuclear deal in 2015, which released billions of dollars in cash into the country either through the unfreezing of foreign assets or trade deals with the West.
This increased military presence is not just worrying to the countries of the Middle East and to Western countries, but also to the Iranian people.
Since late December, there has been an ongoing people’s protest, sparked by a budget that slashed subsidies to the poor and increased funding for the military, where the demonstrators have imploded the Regime to forget about their malign military quests and focus on the problems of their people instead.
