Teachers protest low salaries across Iran

NCRI – Many Iranian teachers did not attend schools in cities across Iran on Tuesday and Wednesday in protest against the lack of adequate income and facing difficult living conditions.

Teachers in the cities of Islamshahr, Robat Karim, Qods City, Shahriar, Shiraz, Shahrood, Saqez, Baneh and Marivan did not attend schools, the state-run ILNA news agency reported.

On Tuesday in Shahrood, hundreds of teachers gathered outside the office of education protesting the low quality of life due to low wages and demanded that the government pay attention to their grievances.

On Wednesday, a group of teachers in the city of Marivan in western Iran gathered outside the office of education to protest the low budget allocated for education in next year’s budget.
