Suppressive forces fire teargas, clash with protestors

NCRI – Various news agencies reported that thousands of people protested against the regime on Tuesday, chanting “death to dictator” and clashing with the regime’s suppressive forces.

Reuters reported that the regime’s security forces fired teargas and clashed with anti-regime protestors. It cited sources as saying security forces and plainclothes agents clashed with demonstrators in Tehran in an attempt to disperse them.

 

CNN said, “Tehran residents reported pockets of protests and clashes with security forces Tuesday on the streets of the Iranian capital.”

According to CNN, witnesses reported more clashes along Azadi Avenue, where protesters were chanting “death to the dictator” and “Khamenei is a murderer. His authority is void.”

“One resident said there were so many police patrolling Tehran that the city resembled a military base,” the news network added.

It said opposition websites reported that “security forces fired tear gas into a crowd of protesters in front of Tehran University.”

AFP also said several sources reported clashes between protesters and security forces near Tehran University and in other parts of the capital, including Azadi (Freedom) Square.

Security forces, deployed in large numbers, fired tear gas at people chanting “death to dictator,” it said.
