NCRI – Students and graduates from the Petroleum University of Technology in Ahvaz, south-west Iran, gathered outside the Iranian regime’s Majlis (Parliament) on Tuesday, August 16, to protest the unfulfilled promises of the regime over their employment options.

This is the latest in a series of protests regarding the employment offers they were promised when they signed up to study there, the state-run Tabnak website reported.

That same day, elementary school teachers held a protest outside the Majlis for the third consecutive day over the law regarding teachers’ employment.

The protesters came from all over Iran to demand that their contracts are revised before the start of the new school year.

On Monday, August 15, hundreds of educators from across Iran also held a protest in front of the Majlis, demanding the right to full-time professional employment from the Education Ministry, the state-run ILNA news agency reported.

One protester said: “We spent last night in Tehran which was difficult. Many of us spent the whole night in the park. We will stay in Tehran until tomorrow and we hope that our minimum demands will be met.”
