Reports obtained by the network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq or MEK) confirms the Iranian people’s general boycott of the Iranian regime’s parliamentary elections farce. This is a positive answer to the call made by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) to boycott the regime’s sham parliamentary elections.

Reports by the MEK network confirm that until noon local time, four hours after the voting started, there were only a few voters at polling stations. In a bid to show large crowds, the regime has been bussing the personnel of the IRGC, Army, and State Security Force to a number of polling stations.

In Tehran, the capital, at 10:00 am local time, The Shariati high school, which is usually one of the busiest polling stations, was only hosting four voters Another report from the Mesgar Abad polling station shows that no one has come to vote yet.

Despite the mullahs’ claims, Iranians in Sistan and Baluchistan Province, are boycotting the regime’s elections farce.

The official ISNA news agency quoted Mahmoud Vaezi, chief of staff to the regime’s President Hassan Rouhani, saying that there has been a large voter turnout and the government is monitoring the situation through online portals. “As the leadership had wished, it seems that the people are coming to the polling stations in large numbers.”

One reporter from Mashhad says, “Down with the rule of the mullahs. No to voting in the elections. They have lined up the taxis to force the drivers to vote. These same drivers have been protesting their poor living and work conditions every day.”  Yet, the Iranian regime’s leaders and organs from all factions and grouping, terrified of a widespread boycott, have been appealing for people’s participation in the sham election. Rejecting Vaezi’s bogus claims.

Today, when casting their vote, the regime’s leaders, including supreme leader Ali Khamenei, regime’s president Hassan Rouhani, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, again appealed to the people to vote.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said: “These appeals, which reflect the regime’s fear of widespread public boycott, only increase the people’s revulsion toward this illegitimate election and strengthen the public resolve to boycott this farce even more.” “With their chants of ‘death to the principle of the velayat-e faqih, and death to Khamenei,’ during the November 2019 and January 2020 uprisings, the Iranian people have voted for the regime’s overthrow and consider the election boycott a patriotic duty and a bond with the galaxy of martyrs,” she added.

The regime’s game of using the so-called “moderate” faction, which was culprit in all the regime’s crimes, to manipulate people and the international community of believing there is any connection between the Iranian regime and democracy, was once rejected during the Iran protests when people chanted, “reformist, hardliner, the game is over.” Khamenei’s massive purge of the rival faction confirmed this truth once more.

In Tehran, the capital, voting was very sparse. The Shariati high school, which is usually one of the busiest polling stations, was only hosting four voters at 10:00 am local time, as reported by MEK activists

In Noshahr, Mazandaran province, the polls are nearly empty. “The poll at Amir Kabir high school was nearly empty at 8:45 am. No one had come to vote. But the regime has filled the area with security forces for fear of protests,” one local reported.

One local report from Rasht, from the Shahid Beheshti high school, Azadegan Street, says, “The place is filled with plainclothes agents so that people can’t record videos. What’s remarkable is that there are very few voters compared to the previous elections.”

NCRI’s statement, Iran-Sham Election, No. 6 wrote, “According to reports from thousands of polling stations nationwide, including in Tehran, Karaj, Shahriar, Robat Karim, IslamshahrQods, Isfahan, BaharestanNajafabadGolpayganZarinshahrYazdanshahrLamerdDasht-e Arjan, Firouzabad, Zahedan, SonqorNeyshabour, Mashhad, Shahr-e KordKazerounDalahou, Hamedan, Kermanshah, Qazvin, AlvandNa’ein, Yazd, YassoujMalayer, Rasht, Sari, NowshahrBabolBabolsar, Tabriz, MiyanehDaylamanDehdasht, Shush, BehbahanBukanAzadshahr, Khorramabad, Kouhdasht, Semnan, Qeshm Island, and Bandar Kangan, the Iranian people have completely boycotted the mullahs’ election masquerade.

In a nutshell, the regime’s attempts to use its sham parliamentary elections as means to legitimize its rule have failed. On the other hand, it confirms the Iranian people’s will of overthrowing the regime.
