Iranian regime suppresses student activists, bloggers

NCRI – The Iranian regime has increased pressures and suppressive measures against activists in different cities across Iran. 
A Bachelor’s Degree student and women activist at Azad University, the Science Research Department has been expelled from the university.

Fatemeh Nasirian a political science student was expelled from university for no reason.
This student had previously been sentenced to 6 months imprisonment with physical punishment. Fatemeh is accused of propaganda against the regime by publishing an article on Women’s International Day.
Another female was arrested on Saturday, September 28, after the regime’s agents raided her house.
Sa’adat Iranpour has been arrested several times before. There is no information on her where abouts at the moment.
Also, two bloggers, Mehrdad Farmani and Ehsan Moulav-far, were arrested on Sunday, September 29.
Plain clothes agents approached their dormitory and after confiscating their personal belongings, they brutally arrested the two students while studying.
There is no information on the whereabouts and condition of the two students so far.
Meanwhile, five cultural activists who had been arrested last year have recently been summoned to the Evin Prison again.
The five activists are Arash Kamancheh, Parvin Zandi, Behzad Asiyaii, Babak Asiyaii and Kaveh Rahimi.
Arash Kamancheh is accused of propaganda against the regime and acting against the national security. Parvin Zandi is a professor at Varamin University and was arrested along with her husband, Arash in December 2012.
A political activist from Tehran, Davoud Agha Mirzaii, was also arrested on September 11 by the intelligence ministry, and has not been able to contact his relatives so far.
The agents also attacked his house and confiscated his personal belongings.
In line with the new academic year, the Iranian regime also sentenced the general director of the teachers’ organization to 5 years imprisonment.
Alireza Hashemi is charged with provoking the public, acting against the national security and propaganda against the Iranian regime.
