Iranian regime steps up control on brink of protest anniversary

NCRI – The Iranian regime has stepped up control in mosques and places of worship as the anniversary of a massive protest in 2009 approaches, according to obtained reports from inside Iran.

The reports indicate that as the anniversary of the December 27 Ashura protests nears, the clerical regime’s agents have become more sensitive towards activities of youths and their visits to mosques and places of worship.

Another report suggested that following the Student Day protests on December 7, security and intelligence agents at the Shahr-e Rey University have intensified controls to the extent that several clashes broke out with the students.
