Iranian regime official attacks Ahmadinejad for Majlis comments

AskeroladiNCRI – A member of the Iranian regime’s Expediency Council has warned Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s comments about the mullahs’ Majlis (Parliament) can lead to an implosion within the clerical system, state-run Fars news agency reported on Friday.

Asadollah Asgaroladi, who is also the head of a faction known as Mo’talefeh close to the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, added, “The person [Ahmadinejad] who says that mottos like Majlis are no longer valid should know that such statements should only come from the Supreme Leader, just as the former Supreme Leader said Majlis is at the helm.”

Asgaroladi suggested further internal divisions within the regime can ultimately lead to an implosion, adding, “We are awaiting the Leader’s statements in this regard. But, the president should not instigate a conflict; Saying that Majlis is no longer at the helm produces conflict and the result of it would be the break up of the power structure.”

Asgaroladi added that the “enemy” could use Ahmadinejad’s remarks against the clerical regime.
