NCRI – Livestock farmers in the central Iranian province of Isfahan on Sunday held a demonstration in front of the office of the regime’s provincial governor against the agricultural policies of the mullahs’ regime.
The demonstrators, who were members of the cooperative company of cattlemen in Isfahan Province, held up placards reading “The imprudence of authorities has destroyed livestock farming in the country.”
They demanded support for domestic production of milk and meat.
Their rally was held simultaneous and in coordination with a string of similar rallies by stockbreeders in Alborz, Fars, Khorasan Razavi, Qazvin and Qom provinces.
During the demonstration, one of the board members of the cooperative company of cattlemen in Isfahan stated: “Last year, the powdered milk importing mafia managed to import 8000 tons of powdered milk into the country, and they have inflicted considerable damage to domestic producers.”
He added: “Last year, it was ratified to allow 10 percent of meat to be imported from Brazil to supply the needs of country, but we have documents indicating that the level of import was increased to 40 percent.”
He pointed out that this cooperative company previously had 4800 members while it now only consists of 2000 members. He added: “The departure of 2800 members from the cooperative company has led to unemployment of a few thousand people who were previously working at dairy farms in the province.”
