Iran: Victims of a Regime’s Affiliated Credit Institution Hold a Protest Rally in Rasht

NCRI – Some of Caspian (regime’s affiliated) Credit Institution’s exploited investors gathered on Sunday May 21 in front of the institution’s office in Rasht to protest against their assets being stolen by the institution.

“It’s now about 20 months that Caspian investors have received no interests for their investment in the credit institution”, says one of the protestors, “Not only have they not been paid any interest, but their very own investment has also been reduced, so they’re the ones who are compensating for the institution’s debt and bankruptcy.”

“Due to financial problems, disputes, and complaints”, says another protestor, “it’s now nearly six months that no payments to investors have been made. And now, after six months, the institution, which operates under the Central Bank, has announced that by no means is it going to pay the interests.”

After receiving no response from their gathering in front of the institution’s office, the protesters entered the office and into the head of the branch’s room, chanting such slogans as “down with thieves”, “Caspian thieves, government backs”, “Rouhani’s government, empty promises”, and “thieves-backing government, no more, no more.”

Meanwhile, Caspian’s exploited investors in Mashhad also held a protest rally Sunday morning May 21 in front of the governor’s place in the city, asking for their stolen investments back, according to reports. During the rally, one of the protesting investors suffered a stroke under the pressure and died afterwards, the reports say.

Also Caspian’s victims in Sistan and Baluchestan province held a protest rally in front of the institution’s main office in Zahedan on Saturday May 20, calling for retrieval of their investment while setting the office on fire.

Similar protests were also held on Tuesday May 16 in several cities including Tehran, Mashhad, Zahedan, Rasht, Ardebil, Kerman, and a number of other cities.

The protestors in Tehran chanted such slogans as “security of investment is our undoubted right”, “Caspian betrays, government supports”, demanding that their seven-month critical situation be dealt with.
