Iran: Students’ protests continue against mismanagement, oopression

NCRI – Iranian students continue with their protests against suppression, mismanagement at university and negligence to the unorganized conditions of the dormitories and university campuses in Iran.

Students at Bu Ali Sina University in the city of Hamedan, staged protest in the campus and demanded resignation of the dean.
The students protested against the weak management of the university Dean and demanded open political atmosphere.
One student said: “Students held banners that wrote ‘save this university’ and distributed pamphlets comprising of their demands.”
Members of the basij committee at the university and security forces were also widely present at the campus and tried to confront the protest.
The main demands of the students were, having independent student committees, publishing newspapers, having open discussions and removing gender segregation.
As the new academic year began, students at many universities across the country demanded resignation of their Dean.
At another university in the city of Hamedan, students protested outside the student deputy office on Sunday, September 29 and showed their objection towards lack of some subjects, laboratories and workshops at the university.
The current system forces students to take in more units, costing them a lot of money and longer time at the university.
On the other hand, more than 300 students of Medical Science universities across the country who had participated in the entrance exam continue with their protest, which has passed 10 days, outside the Iranian regime’s parliament. These students have objected towards the non-standard questions drafted.
