Sunday, October 27: Students of Orumiyeh Industrial University staged their second protest against the management of the university. This protest began with a march from the cafeteria towards the park. Students also chanted slogans against the officials and read a statement.

One of the students then spoke among the protesters and criticized the security and intelligence institutes for creating a security atmosphere at the university and preventing student newspaper activities and associations, lack of permission to play cultural music, the unsuitable condition of the dormitories and mistreatment of the disciplinary committee with female students.

The students’ first gathering was held on Sunday, October 29.

October 23 – 29: Students at Hormozgan University staged protests for 4 consecutive days last week towards the unsuitable recreational condition, especially the transportation system.

Students’ first protest was held on Wednesday, October 23 in the university parking. Following the officials’ negligence to their objections, the students protested for the second time on Saturday, October 26 and its following day. The state-run Fars news agency then published rumors about the students protest regarding problems of the bus organization services. This greatly angered the students and provoked them to hold the fourth gathering on October 29.

Receiving no responses, the students finally protested on Wednesday, October 30 and held a sit-in in front of the main entrance, preventing the buses leaving.

Tuesday, October 29: A large group of students of Tehran University protested outside the university’s amphitheater to show their support towards students that have received suspension decrees.

About eight students of this university from different majors have been deprived from attending classes and the university campus on charges of participating in the protest that took place while Rouhani, the Iranian President, was giving his speech at the university.

The protesters condemned this suppressive measure and demanded the urgent return of their classmates.
