Iran saw another wave of anti-regime protests on Sunday

NCRI – Anti-regime protests flared up in Tehran and other Iranian cities on Sunday despite the deployment of the regime’s suppressive forces, according to news agencies.

Citing eyewitnesses, the AFP reported clashes took place between demonstrators and regime forces at Tehran’s Vali-e Asr Square, with security forces firing tear gas into the crowds.

AFP also reported that several other squares in Tehran were also scenes of protests and clashes were reported. Demonstrations also took place in other cities such as Shiraz and Esfahan.

According to the Washington Post, eyewitnesses said large crowds formed in various parts of Tehran on Sunday, clashing with the regime’s security forces.

An office worker reached by telephone told the paper, “Security forces are hiding their faces behind masks … some main streets are very crowded, both with protesters and just as many security forces.”
The Iranian regime had deployed its suppressive forces in Tehran in anticipation of scheduled protests on Sunday.
