Iran Protests – 7,8,10 of December

December 7: The families of two political prisoners staged a protest outside the intelligence bureau in the city of Kamyaran to demand information on the status of their loved ones. During the demonstration they chanted slogans and insisted that either their children be released or the families be arrested.

December 8: Around 100 retired workers of the pipeline production factory in the city of Ahwaz staged a protest outside the justice department to demand clarification of their situation after failing to receive pay or benefits for almost five years.

December 8: 400 workers of the Starfish Company in the city of Bandar Abbas staged a strike in protest at four months delayed wages and benefits.

December 10: More than 300 job-seekers gathered in protest in the city of Shiraz, where the number of those seeking employment can reach 2000 people – and only 20 to 25 per cent of them have success in finding work. They also protested at the low wages in the city.

December 10: More than 100 people who have bought cars from the Iran-Khodro Company protested at not being supplied with the car they had paid for. One buyer claimed that he had paid 75 million Tomans for a car, but the company now wanted to provide him with a different second-hand model of inferior quality.

December 10: Sugarcane harvest workers at the Haft Tapeh Sugarcane Factory stopped work to stage their second day of protest in anger at non-payment of their salaries.
December 12: Workers at the ‘Bah Bafan’ Weaving Company in the industrial city of Mobarakeh, Isfahan, protested at being sacked after 15 years of working for the company. Workers of Isfahan’s water distribution company, which produces pipes and joints for water distribution systems, gathered outside the company HQ to protest at unpaid wages.
