Iran: Protests in quake stricken areas continue

NCRI – Protests to lack of basic necessities by the earthquake stricken people of Lorestan province, western Iran, continues.

In their ongoing protests, residents of Doroud staged a gathering in front of the governor’s office and the Red Crescent headquarters in the city demanding attention to the plight of the victims.

The basic needs including tents, food and medicine have not reached most people and many are still sleeping on the ground in cold weather and have no shelter.

Those whose houses have not been destroyed by the quake are still scared of going back to their homes due to ongoing tremor in the area.

Reports from Boroujerd, another major city devastated by last Friday’s earthquake, indicate that clashes broke out Sunday between angry people and the State Security Forces on streets, where a number of people were wounded.
