Nationwide uprising – Number 51

Youth protests and street clashes were still raging in Tehran even during early night hours. At around 18:30 local time, people gathered in groups of 200 and 300 while the regime’s suppressive forces surrounded them in various areas, such Baharestan Square, Baharestan Street, Fakhrabad Street, Jomhouri, Sarcheshmeh intersection, behind the Majlis (parliament) building, Enghelab Street, below Choubi Bridge, Gorgan (Namjou), and Shariati.

At around 20:00, suppressive forces fired live rounds of ammunition at protestors in Jomhouri Street. Many people were injured and many others were arrested.

The regime’s agents also attacked those protestors who held pictures of Neda. Neighboring shop owners had been locked up in shopping centers and were prevented from leaving the area.

At Azadi Square and on the streets of Behboudi, Jeyhoun, Ghasroldasht, and Karoun, special units and the paramilitary Bassij Force were stationed, while others patrolled the area on motorbikes. At the same time, helicopters hovered overhead and took pictures of protestors.

In Tajrish Square, Vanak Square, Enghelab Square, Sadeghieh Square, and Tehran Pars, Bassij Forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are positioned close together. After attacking crowds of protestors, they arrested dozens of people.
