NCRI – More than a dozen Iranian political prisoners in Gohardasht prison in the city of Karaj go on hunger strike on Saturday to express solidarity with women and girls who have been victims of acid attacks carried out by gangs affiliated to the Iranian regime.

The political prisoners said in a statement published on Friday: “For years, the heroic Iranian women have been under brazen and brutal suppression imposed by the regime. Facing lack of social independence, imposition of obligatory veil, and being deprived of education in many fields and hundreds of other privileges based on the constitution, are only small part of the violence being carried out against the Iranian women.”
