NCRI logoReports suggest that the criminal poisoning of female students in schools across Iran continued on Monday, April 10th. Students in several schools in Tehran, as well as in Karaj, Urmia, Sanandaj, and Khoi, were reportedly affected, with some requiring hospitalization.

Today, bazaar merchants and shopkeepers in Saqqez went on strike to protest the chemical attacks on girls’ schools that occurred on Sunday. At least six schools were reportedly targeted with poisonous gas.

On April 10, 2023, according to the state-run news agency Mehr, Majid Mir Ahmadi, Deputy Minister of Security and Law and Order of the Interior, boldly stated, “The few cases that happened in the new year, which were very limited, were the mischief of some students to close classes and schools. One or two cases of using pepper spray by students have been identified and they will definitely be dealt with.”

The state-run newspaper, Etelaat, published an article yesterday stating, “It appears that there are powerful forces behind these acts of conspiracy and damage, who will not allow the secrets of this heinous act to be revealed and this ugly tapestry to be dismantled… The illogical and unacceptable justifications presented by some members of parliament, educational administrators, and officials at the ministry have added to the confusion and complexity of the situation, and the contradictions and lack of coherence in their statements fail to convince the people… Some officials have repeatedly mentioned the mischievousness and playfulness of students in recent days, but people are questioning why such incidents do not occur in boys’ schools where there is more mischievousness and playfulness.”

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), praised the brave people of Saqqez and Mahabad who protested the criminal poisoning of innocent girls by the regime. She commended their courageous actions in holding demonstrations, strikes, and standing up to the oppressive forces, which represent the strong determination of the Iranian people to overthrow the religious dictatorship.
