According to the Social Headquarters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside the country, due to the widespread arrests made yesterday, a large number of other relatives joined the ongoing protests, which have now been going on for about a month in front of the Iranian regime’s suppression and crimes centers.
Agents from the State Security Forces (SSF), and security and plain clothes forces surrounded the protestors and made threats against them. They also tossed requests from elderly parents back and forth from Evin to the Revolutionary Court and from the latter to police stations and other suppressive organs.
Many of the demonstrators in front of the regime’s Revolutionary Court are relatives of those detained during the July 9th protests, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
Last night, a number of other families staged a gathering at Tehran’s Mellat Park. While carrying pictures of their loved ones, they chanted slogans against the clerical regime. The demonstrators also held candles and demanded the immediate release of their loved ones.
