Five strikes and protests in Iran last Sunday

NCRI – This past Sunday, August 14, there were a series of strikes and protests in Kermanshah, Iran which represents the discord amongst the Iranian people.

Pensioners protest in the Social Security Organization

A group of pensioners gathered inside a branch of the Social Security Organization in Sanjab Street, Kermanshah, to protest the non-payment of their salaries. So far, they have not been paid for two months and they are demanding an immediate settlement.

Rally for employees of the electricity distribution companies

Employees of the electricity distribution companies rallied inside the offices in Kermanshah to protest the two months of missing salary. They have not been paid for June or July and want their wages paid immediately.

Protest by contract personnel at Payam-e-Noor University

Contract personnel at Payam-e-Noor University protested three months’ worth of missing pay. They also wanted more job stability, as their jobs, at the university on Imam Boulevard, were still insecure after four years’ employment.

Bakers rallied in Elahieh town

Bakers and baked-goods merchants protested the closure of the bakery by the Department of Trade in Elahieh town, Kermanshah. They demanded that the bakery be reopened and business be resumed.

Nurses protested at Bisotoon Hospital

This is the latest in a series of protests by nurses over inadequate pay and bonuses and irregular payments from the Bisotoon Hospital. They demanded the full payment of past salaries.
