NCRI logoOn Monday night, October 31, the 46th night of the uprising, Tehran and various cities were scenes of nightly demonstrations and hit-and-run clashes with the suppressive forces. Residents of Tehran’s Ekbatan district continued their nightly demonstration after several nights in a row. This area has become one of the centers of nightly uprisings. On the previous nights, the suppressive forces attacked houses and harassed their residents as an act of revenge. Monday night, in the same area, the suppressive forces used vehicles with mounted loudspeakers to broadcast slogans against the MEK. They also threw sound bombs at houses. In response, people chanted, “Death to the dictator.” In Mehr Villa of Karaj, people widely chanted anti-regime slogans from the rooftops. In the Gharb Township of Tehran, people chanted from the rooftops, “This year is a year of sacrifice, Seyyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown.” In the Sadeghieh Golshahr metro station in Tehran, people chanted, “Death to the dictator” and “We will fight, we will die, and will take back Iran.”

Tabriz, northwest Iran, was the scene of nightly demonstrations and hit-and-run clashes between people and suppressive forces. The youth chanted, “We are Babak’s soldiers; we are ready to die,” referring to a historical legendary hero. The protesters confronted the suppressive forces and made them flee by throwing Molotov cocktails and rocks. They also punished several suppressive forces. In Miandoab, west Azerbaijan province, there was a nightly hit-and-run clash between the youth and the suppressive forces. The youth in Malekshahi in Ilam, western Iran, targeted the police station, the intelligence department, and the office of the Friday prayer Imam.

People staged nightly demonstrations in Amol, northern Iran, and Yazd, central Iran, chanting, “Death to the dictator” and “Death to Khamenei.” In Arak, in Markazi Province, the suppressive forces opened fire on the nightly demonstrations, and there was a hit-and-run clash between the youth and security forces. In Valiasr township in Arak, there was a fierce clash between protesters and the suppressive forces. A Basij base in Arak was set on fire by the youths. The people of Sanandaj and Marivan, western Iran, staged nightly demonstrations and blocked the road by lighting fire. The brave youth of Kamyaran set fire to the regime’s surveillance cameras.

Meanwhile, due to the nationwide uprising, fear and desertion are growing among the suppressive forces, and the regime’s parliament ratified an urgent bill addressing the issue. The state-run Mehr News Agency reported on October 30: “The salaries of the armed forces will increase by 20 percent, and the State Security Forces will continue benefitting from extra pay for the time of hardship.”
