State Media Slams High Ranking Cleric as Anti-Vaxxer

Slamming a cleric who keeps promoting anti-vaxxers’ rhetoric in Iran, state-run ‘Chand-Sanyeh’, wrote: “Please do not play with people’s nerves! People have enough problems, and it is better not to confuse their minds with baseless words!”

Warning of social outrage, the site added: “After all, how can a cleric talk about vaccines and ask the radio and television to cover anti-vaccine movements around the world? This happens at a time when the only way to fight Coronavirus mortality is to get vaccinated.”

Alireza Panahian, who happens to be the founder and vice chief of Ammar Headquarters claimed yesterday that even the most senior French physicians are resisting Covid-19 vaccines. Last month, he said that Bill Gates has produced the Coronavirus in order to reduce the world’s population by 15% with his own vaccine.

Iranians Don’t Trust Domestic Vaccines

In an article for the state-run Jahan-e-Sanat, Mohammad-Reza Mahboubfar, an Iranian health expert, wrote: “The number of people opposing vaccines and those who have not yet come to the country’s vaccination centers to receive their shots is increasing. The main concern that makes people refuse to attend vaccination centers is the limitation of the vaccine variations in the country, and some people prefer to go beyond the available options to inject other vaccines such as Pfizer, Modern, etc.”

The piece continued: “Existing vaccines like Sinofarm and Barakat, are still in clinical trials stage three. Only Barakat has received emergency approval from health institutes and for Sinofarm, the World Health Organization has issued an emergency approval.”

Mahboubefar added: “The unwillingness of the Iranian people to inject the existing vaccines and the failure of collective immunity against the virus is to blame on those who delayed the vaccination of the country’s population for eight months with self-imposed sanctions and false promises of producing domestic vaccines. Upon drowning people in various peaks and waves of the pandemic, they are still insisting on their previous statements.”

Honor Killings of Young Women in Iran Going Unpunished Due to Misogynistic Laws

In the past few weeks, stories of honor killings in Iran have been making headlines in the news across the country with young women being murdered by their husbands or male relatives. In such cases, the police and the judiciary are deemed to be acting negligently in preventing these murders from happening or prosecuting the men involved following the criminal acts, effectively giving these men the ‘license to kill’. This notion appears to be true in the cases of Romina Ashrafi who was murdered by her father in Gilan and Sargol Habibi from Sanandaj who was killed by her husband, as well as the case of Bayan and Sahar Moradi who were murdered by Bayan’s husband, after legal complaints that were put forward by Bayan of her husband’s previous acts of violence were ignored.
