Iran: Coronavirus Fatalities in 458 Cities Exceeds 128,900

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on October 21, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 458 cities had exceeded 128,900. The number of victims in Tehran is 30,991, Khorasan Razavi 9,747, Khuzestan 8,043, Isfahan 6,742, Lorestan 5,548, Qom 5,390, Gilan 5,001, East Azerbaijan 4,566, West Azerbaijan 3,671, Alborz 3,563, Sistan and Baluchestan 3,556, Hamedan 3,400,Fars 3,391, Kerman 1,990, Central Province 1,787, Qazvin 1,277, Zanjan 1,220, Ilam 1,074, South Khorasan 994, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 929.

Afkari Brothers Remain Incommunicado After Navid’s Execution

Authorities have taken Afkari brothers, Habib and Vahid, to solitary confinement in a prison in southwestern Iran since early September to stifle their voices.

The authorities have denied the Afkari brothers visitations and phone calls with their family since their younger brother Navid Afkari was executed on September 12, 2020.

Iranians have reported a shortage of insulin, a vital medication for diabetes, in pharmacies across Iran. According to the state-run Entekhab website, Mahmoud Najafi Arab, the Head of Health Economic Commission of the Tehran’s Chamber of Commerce said “over 1.5 times the need of the nation is being imported just like every year”, however, Iran’s insulin shortage is due to the trafficking of insulin. He also said that people with diabetes have to buy insulin from the black market at eight times the pharmacy price or are forced to use expired insulin.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Thursday, October 22, 2020, marks the 335th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 755 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
