Iran: Coronavirus Fatalities in 465 Cities Exceeds 162,800

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Saturday, November 21, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 465 cities had exceeded 162,800. The number of victims in Tehran is 40,021, Isfahan 9,195, Khuzestan 8,960, Lorestan 6,790, East Azerbaijan 6,194, Gilan 5,636, West Azerbaijan 5,634, Fars 4,477, Alborz 4,380, Sistan and Baluchestan 4,131, Hamedan 4,120, Golestan 4,076, Kermanshah 3,543, Central Province 3,128, Kerman 2,859, Yazd 2,837, North Khorasan 2,608, Semnan 2,434, Ilam 1,580, Khorasan South 1,461, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 1,280.

Iran: New Wave of Arrests of MEK Families and Released Prisoners in Fear of an Uprising

On November 17, 2020, the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) announced that on the eve of the anniversary of the November 2019 uprising, and in fear of escalating popular protests, the repressive forces arrested a large number of former political prisoners, as well as Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) families. A number of them were summoned and threatened, refraining them from participating in any activities on the anniversary of the November uprising. The statement announced the arrest of released prisoners in Sanghar, Semnan, and Tehran.

Iran: Opposition network marks first anniversary of November 2019 protests

In various cities, Resistance Units members installed images and posters of the 1,500 martyrs on walls and distributed handwritten slogans, handouts with slogans quoting Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRIMaryam Rajavi.

The MEK supporters and members of the Resistance Units also took to graffiti with anti-regime slogans in cities such as Tehran, Mashhad, Neyshabur, Karaj, Rasht, Varamin, Hamedan, Urmia, Sanandaj, and Khorramabad.

WHAT ARE THE IRAN PROTESTS OF 2019?

Sunday, November 22, 2020, marks the 366th day since the beginning of the nationwide Iran protests.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) has identified 828 of the more than 1500 protesters killed by the regime so far.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the United Nations to urgently send an international fact-finding mission to Iranian prisons to meet with the detainees.
