Protests in Different Cities From Various Walks of Life

On Saturday, reports from inside Iran indicated that high school students have taken to the streets in Tehran, Hamedan, Kerman, Yazd, Ilam, Saveh, Bandar Abbas, and Shiraz to protest against the state’s decision to conduct in-person exams.

Also, livestock owners in Yazd and investors in Urumieh Stock Exchange who lost their fortunes due to systemic manipulation by the regime-affiliated elements rallied and protested on Saturday.

Iran: Coronavirus Fatalities In 541 Cities Exceed 280,700


The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Friday, May 7, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 541 cities had exceeded 280,700. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 64,851, Isfahan 18,445, Khorasan Razavi 17,360, Khuzestan 17,249, Lorestan 11,568, Mazandaran 11,580, East Azerbaijan 11,478, West Azerbaijan 10,443, Gilan 9,701, Fars 8,852, Alborz 7,468, Sistan and Baluchestan 6,451, Hamedan 6,333, Kermanshah 5,614, Semnan 4,930, Yazd 4,842, Hormozgan 3,265, Qazvin 3,259, Bushehr 2,919, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 2,300, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 2,199.

Three men were killed on May 2 after undercover narcotic forces opened direct fire on them in Khash, southeastern Iran. They were identified as Hamid Gomshadzehi, 45, Nazir Gomshadzehi, 20, and Osman Gomshadzehi, 20.


The Iran terror trial verdict could forever change terror trials in Europe


The February verdict against an Iranian diplomat tried in a Belgian court for an act of terror committed in Europe will have long-standing implications for how terrorism-related offenses are investigated and adjudicated in European courts. The trial concerned the attempted bombing of a rally held by the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK)—an exiled leftist-Islamist political group that seeks regime change in Iran—which was attended by tens of thousands of people in Villepinte, near Paris, France on June 30, 2018. The diplomat in question was sentenced to twenty years in prison.
