Maryam Rajavi: In 1988, based on a fatwa by Khomeini, 30,000 political prisoners were massacred, a majority of them, members and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK). This crime against humanity was carried out in absolute secret.

The international community has grossly failed the victims of past and ongoing crimes against humanity related to the 1988 massacres. It is essential for UN_HRC to ensure truth and justice for such crimes and to provide a safeguard against their recurrence.
