Clashes in Minab, Southeast Iran

Nationwide Protest Continued on Tuesday
According to reports from inside Iran, rallies and protests continued to break out in multiple cities throughout the country. Teachers in Tehran and Zarrindasht, high school students in Izeh, Omidieh, and Khorramshahr, college graduated teachers in Tehran, car manufacturing workers in Markazi province, municipal workers in Arvand Rood and Qarveh, and
railroad workers in Shiraz were among the recorded accounts.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Monday, May 10, 2021, that the Coronavirus fatalities in 541 cities had exceeded 284,100. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 65,801, Isfahan 18,695, Khorasan Razavi 17,500, Khuzestan 17,489, Mazandaran 11,675, East Azerbaijan 11,603, West Azerbaijan 10,563, Qom 9,395, Fars 9,052, Alborz 7,643, Golestan 7,020, Hamedan 6,393, Kerman 6,373, Central Province 5,928, Kermanshah 5,664, Kurdistan 4,902, North Khorasan 4,183, Ardabil 3,627, Hormozgan 3,315, Zanjan 3,130, Ilam 3,026, South Khorasan 2,686, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 2,219.

The Implications of Growing Protests Across Iran
Tension is growing across Iran. Every day, different communities and segments of the Iranian society hold demonstrations and protest the regime’s corruption, destructive policies, and oppression. On Sunday, defying a wave of repressive measures by the Iranian regime, retirees and pensioners of the Social Security Organization took to the streets and held protest rallies in 13 cities. In the past four months, the pensioners have organized regular protests, sometimes two or three times a week.
Iran Elections 2021: Boycott Dilemmas Escalate for the Regime
The upcoming sham presidential elections in Iran, scheduled for June 18, have turned into a major crisis for the regime. Tuesday is the official deadline for registration for the elections. But none of the main candidates are certain about participating. On May 2, regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei expressed concerns about a low voter turnout, signaling his regime’s main obstacle. “Nothing replaces elections for the country and the strength of the foundations of the country’s authority. People should not be discouraged from it,” he emphasized.
Iranians Take to Twitter To Support Tortured Afkari Brothers, Imprisoned in SW Iran
Iranians took to Twitter this week in support of political prisoners Vahid and Habib Afkari, brothers to executed wrestling champion Navid Afkari. The three brothers were arrested for participating in nationwide protests in August 2018. Vahid and Habib Afkari have been in solitary and banned from phone calls in Shiraz’s Adel Abad Prison in southwestern Iran for over eight months.

Iranian Students Are Victims of Government’s Inattention
Iran’s schools, which reopened on September 5, 2020, began on this date with the goal that perhaps teachers would be able to compensate for the time of the lost education that was stopped because of the coronavirus outbreak. With the outbreak of the pandemic, until the government launched the online Shad Network, the Ministry of Education sought a solution to compensate the teaching hours so that education would not be shut down, and the first solution was to continue education through the State TV, which was broadcasted on two networks, the Fourth and the Education channels, which were most useful for elementary students.
