In Iran, we condemn use of force violations in recent weeks by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and state security forces against unarmed fuel couriers and protesters belonging to the Baluch minority, which has reportedly led to the killing of at least 12individuals, including at least two minors.
The series of violent events and unrest began on 22 February, when Revolutionary Guards are alleged to have shot and killed at least 10 fuel couriers, known as sookhtbar, in Sistan and Baluchistan Province at the border with Pakistan, after a two-day stand-off triggered by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps blocking the road to the city of Saravan.
A third of COVID-19 patients dying 24 hours after checking in SW Iran hospitals
The Head of Ahvaz’s University of Medical Sciences in southwestern Iran said within the past three weeks, a third of COVID-19 patients are dying within 24 hours after checking in the hospital.
In an interview with state-run TV, Farhad Abolnejadian said after analyzing the number of COVID-19 deaths from February 8 to March 2, it was discovered that 70% of COVID-19 patients in emergency rooms were intubated immediately or had already died.
Hamzeh Darvish’s Report on the Situation in Lakan Prison in Rasht
Hamzeh Darvish, a prisoner of conscience imprisoned in Lakan Prison in Rasht, northern Iran, has published a report describing the poor living conditions of the prisoners in this prison. In this report, Mr. Darvish referred to the inhumane conditions and overcrowding of prisoners, poor health, poor nutrition of prisoners and other living problems of prisoners.

Gilan Central Prison (Lakan Rasht) is located in the west of Rasht city in the belt of Tehran road. The prison has eleven halls and holds prisoners on charges of drug offenses, armed robbery, kidnapping and financial crimes.

Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 497 Cities Surpasses 225,400
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Thursday, March 4, 2021, that the Coronavirus death toll in 497 cities had exceeded 225,400. The number of victims in Tehran is 53,246, Isfahan 14,545, Khuzestan 12,015, Mazandaran 9,552, East Azerbaijan 8,638, Gilan 8,041, Fars 6,717, Alborz 5,633, Kerman 4,989, Central Province 4,563, Semnan 3,595, North Khorasan 3,448, Zanjan 2,455, Hormozgan 2,445, Bushehr 2,274, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 1,815.

Belgian Foreign Minister: “Conviction of Iranian diplomat and case of Djalali are separate”
For Belgium, the conviction of the Iranian diplomat Assadollah Assadi by a criminal court in Antwerp and the death sentence pronounced by the Iranian regime against the Iranian-Swedish doctor Ahmadreza Djalali are separate issues, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sophie Wilmès said at a parliamentary committee hearing on Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, March 2.
Assadi and three other terrorists and agents of the Iranian Intelligence Ministry (MOIS) were convicted last month for plotting to bomb the annual event of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in Paris in 2018. Assadi, their leader, has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.

Iranians Continue Protests; at Least Seven Rallies and Strikes on March 2 and 3
On March 2 and 3, the people of Iran held at least seven rallies and protests in different cities over officials’ failure to meet their inherent demands. Southern provinces like Khuzestan, Hormozgan, and Kerman had the lion’s share in the March 2 and 3 protests.
On the other hand, citizens protested the government’s imprudence in resolving their current dilemmas. Furthermore, retirees and workers protested officials’ failure to pay their pensions and salaries.
Politico: U.S. officials believe Iran-backed group responsible for latest rocket attack in Iraq
U.S. and Iraqi officials believe that an Iran-backed group with a history of targeting Americans in Iraq was responsible for Wednesday’s attack on an Iraqi air base that hosts U.S. troops.
While the investigation into the attack on Ain al-Asad air base in the western province of Anbar is still ongoing, officials believe that Kataib Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed paramilitary force, or an affiliated group was responsible, according to two defense officials familiar with early intelligence.
